2008 Praise Group Seminar

What is the vision and purpose behind the event? I want to be able to help youth praise groups in Las Vegas to better praise the Lord by helping them grow as leaders. I believe that by teaching the people who are leading our youth in Christ, we can better communicate to those who do not know of Him. Being up on stage and singing and playing instruments is not enough to be a praise leader. I hope that through this experience, they will learn to play better because we want to give God the best, but also that they learn what praise leading truly is. I also hope that they will learn what kind of repertoire is best for what kind of message they want to show the people. I believe that praise is a way for messages to go from people to people, but more importantly, from God to the people. I want them to know how to best send the messages that God wants them to send. Finally, I want this to be an opportunity for Christians to be together. God said, “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20. I want this to be a place where we can all meet in the name of the Lord so that we can serve His will and worship His name.

What are some ways you can accomplish your goal? I want to invite those who are experienced and already out there leading to pass their knowledge to the younger generations so that they may be lead down the right paths. The Blue Jeans were down here recently, leading us in praise last year. I would like to ask for their support. Or if they are unable to, I would like to ask a group experienced in praise for both the technical and spiritual sides of the field.

When is the best time to hold this event? To make sure that we give the youths our best focus, I would like to hold this event during the summer when they will have the time and mindset to come. Also, to make sure that schedules will best be met and the most effective knowledge to be learned, I think that a Monday to Tuesday program would be best.

How many people do you want to have attend? The focus of this program is for the praise bands and will be specified to concentrate on those needs. However, the praise night of the first night will be for all youth in Las Vegas to attend. Please see the itinerary for details.

Where can you accommodate the number of people at the time you want to hold the event? I would like to host this event at a church. The Covenant Korean has already said that they would be able to accommodate the event.
