South Georgia Shooters

The South Georgia Shooters Basketball Organization is represented by 10 & under/4th graders through 13 & under/7th graders consisting of boys from Lowdnes County, Lanier County, Cook County, and Colquit County, Georgia schools. The focus of these USSSA basketball teams are to learn the fundamentals and skills needed to compete at the highest level of basketball competition. The coaches emphasize good sportsmanship, Christian faith & practices, teamwork, respect of others and leadership on and off the court. We are not associated with any school or recreation program. All team expenses are attempted to be paid by parents, relatives, friends, fundraising activities, and/or donations. These efforts place a heavy burden on these mostly single parents and players' family that are reared by their grandparents in this mostly rural, low income area of Georgia. Your sponsorship will allow The Shooters to: · participate in weekly USSSA tournaments · pay travel expenses for the USSSA out of state Tournaments (The Shooters captured 2nd place in the Florida Showcase, Jacksonville, FL - 5th/11U boys USSSA Qualifier Division I in April 2008) · pay travel expenses (i.e. hotels, food, gas, etc.) for local tournaments and the USSSA State Tournaments · pay for gym time and support volunteer coaches to allow quality instruction · provide financial assistance to families who would not be able to participate otherwise · and provide a Christian learning environment and family experiences.
