Anthony "Cool Tony" Sbarra
Americans have always been inspired by people who transcend limitations.
That’s one of the reasons we like sports so much. Sports pages are filled with stories of athletes who successfully battle a variety of natural obstacles: birth defects (withered left arm—golfer Calvin Peete), disease (cancer—Lance Armstrong), and aging (Randy Johnson). I am one such athlete.
As a person with dyslexia, I don’t think I need to explain to you in any great detail the challenges I’ve faced. Education for kids with dyslexia has come a long way since the 1960s and 1970s, but growing up with limited resources, I struggled to achieve ninth-grade reading proficiency. (As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve had help with this letter; I’ve got a great family and friends). I aim to become a successful professional golfer, so that I can serve as a role model for people who have dyslexia, and show them that their dreams can also become a reality.
As your company’s sponsored player I can effectively represent your brand both on the course and in my every day life. Since picking up a golf club at the age of 9 I have had the dream of being a Pro. Even now, each time I go to a course and stand on the first tee, I feel this is where I belong. I played on the Varsity Golf Team all four years of high school, and channeled that experience into a 13 year career as a certified golf instructor. In 2006 I felt that is was time for me to follow my dream of playing competitive golf, and became a member of the New England Pro Tour. During my two seasons on tour, notable professionals like Walter Morgan, Jim Hallet Charlie Rutledge and Brian Hebb praised my performance and encouraged me to continue to develop my skills to achieve further success on tour.
The 2010 Golf Tour Season will be here shortly and to prepare for the season I need to be able to practice daily to be Tour ready. To devote the time, energy and focus necessary to get to the Winner’s Circle I am seeking ,000 from one or more sponsors for the 2010 tour season.
The ,000 sounds like lot, but I estimate this amount is necessary cover both Tour expenses and my regular cost of living expenses. In order to be confident that I can play a full season, I need to reach my sponsorship goal by the beginning of the 2010 Tour season.
With your support and sponsorship, I can take a leave of absence from my current job and spend all of my time and effort improving my game and developing into a marketable player. The result will be a successful 2010 season for me and a positive return on your investment.
I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss a partnership with you. I firmly believe I have a great career ahead of me; I look forward to you being a part of it.
Sincerely,
Anthony “Cool Tony” ...
Phil Cradle
My name is Phil Cradle. I have been playing the game of golf for just about a year now and have discovered that I have a natural talent for the game. I am 32.
In the course of my play and practice I have discovered a new way of gripping the golf clubs, that I refer to as The Cradle Method. I actually wrote a book on the grip which can be downloaded at www.TheCradleMethod.com
I would love to play the game of golf for a career. I believe I have what it takes mentally and physically to compete in professional golf arenas. Of course, it comes down to having the money to compete, which is why I need a sponsor. I currently am a server at a local seafood restaurant. I am married, for almost 15 years now (yes, to the same woman :-)) I considered other avenues of bringing in income, for I really don\'t want to be serving salmon the rest of my life. I really feel in golf I have an opportunity to do something I really love to do, and at the same time pay the bills with it. I also would like to introduce the game to the little ones, especially those from low income families. The game of golf should be available to all, not just those with cash. That\'s why I didn\'t learn the game until I was 32. I am a minority(black) male, and like most minorities, golf isn\'t a game that is linked with our childhood. I would love to change that. Golf teaches so much that can be used in the challenges of life. My physical descriiption: 6\'3\" 160-170 lbs, pretty much all muscle. Drive of an ox. I need sponsorship to compete in a low tiered tour called The Gateway Tour. It\'s the tour that many compete in before they move on to The Nationwide Tour and then of course The PGA. I am trying to raise money to buy a spot to compete in a two events in the summer series of 2008. I am practicing as we speak for these events. You can check out The Gateway tour at www.gatewaytour.com
In return for your sponsorship I will of course wear your company name and logo on everything, except my body... no tatoos going on :-) But on the real, I would be willing to give your company and brand maximum exposure on all that I have to expose. I will succeed. I will achieve this goal. In the process, I believe I will make history. Please join me in this quest, and be a part of history in the making. Even if you can\'t or won\'t donate cash, which I understand is hard to come by, help me out by linking to my website www.TheCradleMethod.com and help drive the sell of my book The Cradle Method. All the money made from the sell of my book is going towards my quest for the gateway. Well, thanks for reading. ...
